[Having the BT Mighty Mouse in front of you untouched and waiting to be used]

I have now switched!! Ordered my C2D MBP today, and hopefully it will come in 1-2 weeks. I went with the 15.4" 2.16Ghz Standard How it is.

I was really debating getting a larger hard-drive. However the company i bought it from allows trade-ups so i figure in about a year when a new MBP comes which it probably will(Hopefully Quad-Core) ill switch up. Ill have a hard time filling up about 100GB's. After is all and said and down from transferring over whats on my PC to my new mac, ill probably still have about 70 GB's, (including what the OS takes and shit).

I was unsure about getting the glossy screen, but when i was looking at it in the store the matte screen i liked better. I am in areas with light usually and it was better for me to get the Matte.

So here i am waiting! :noes::hs::cool::x:

Damn this wait blows. But i cant wait for my new (and my first) laptop!

Uninstall all the bloatware, trial software, etc.

No wait, you don't have to deal with that :bigthumb:

Pop in a DVD and be amazed by the quality.

Like pre-installed software that merely requires an activation key for your (apple's) convenience, that takes up a lot of space if you don't use/want it.

I just had a thread like this a couple months ago, learn to use the search function.

    Harsh.

I just noticed that I have less than 100GB free on my new MBP, so it looks like I'll be trying to figure out what's taking up all the space as well...

get rid of the printer drivers will save 1-2 gigs
(library > printers > delete everything inside)

delete the garageband loops, idvd templates and imovie templates should save you another 8 gigs (also in your library)

delete your language packs will save you another 800megs - 1.5 gigs
use Monolingual to do this and follow the instructions carefully, you can find it on version tracker.

and the mighty mouse sucks, my MS mouse broke last week at work, so i had to use a mighty mouse till my replacement came in....god that was a long week...
and yes, they gave me a bluetooth one....and a corded one, both sucked..

Some advice: don't upgrade unless you absolutely have to.

Computer technology changes so rapidly that it doesn't make sense to upgrade just to have the "latest". In 6 months, it won't be the latest anymore. In just 8 months, the MBP went from Core Duo to Core 2 Duo.

so if you upgrade early it's a good thing, waiting for 4-5 months down the product cycle is nearing the next window of upgrades...

Your logic is eating itself. It's simple: the later you upgrade, the better technology you're going to have in your new computer. That's why, IMHO, you shouldn't upgrade your current computer until you really have to.
