MMA The next UFC contender at 185 will be...

    One of these four:

    Palhares vs Henderson
    Marquardt vs Kampmann

The winners of these fights should fight on the undercard of Okami vs Silva/Cote.

I know NOTHING about Palhares (except what I've read on here) so I'd have to take Henderson in their fight.

Marquardt is talented, but fights too wrecklessly and emotionally. I like Kampmann in that fight and will be betting on him if he comes in under.

    So then,

    Kampmann vs Henderson

Personally I think Henderson is a touch overrated. Most of his hype the last 3 years came from his KO of a fevered W.Silva. There is nobody tougher in MMA than Henderson but age is catching up to him. If Kampmann's knee can hold up, I'd put him in line for a crack at 185 within the first few months of 09.

I've been a big Kampmann fan for awhile. Ever since the slick arm triangle on McFedries.

Hendo and Marquardt are the only other MWs i really care about. Hendo vs. Marquardt would be a really sick fight imo.

I got Hendo over Marquardt but would not rule out a Marquardt victory via piledriver.

Palhares sucks, Kampmann sucks and Marquardt wouldn't show anything he didn't show already.

Hendo is the man to do it.

What little we've seen of Palhares makes me think of Lil' Filho from his build and style, though I can't make the comparison of abilities yet.

Kampmann is excellent, but I think he should try cutting to welterweight (even though he's one of those guys with deceptive strength).

    .

Hendo will Pressure, Phalares will back up, and step right into range for one of those hooks.

Salaverry isn't a can, just past his prime

    also

maybe you think Henderson is going to win, but he's always had a weakness for top level BTT guys

A great wrestler with an iron chin that wont be stupid enough to stand up with Silva.

Okay that's somewhat reasonable. I don't think that really equates to much against Anderson Silva. I mean GSP is probably the best "wrestler" out there utilizing it for MMA, and I think Silva would rule his world all day. So my logic just tells me if GSP can't beat him, this guy can't. Didn't work so well for Hendo either.

He tried to keep the fight on the ground..and he did a pretty good job of it in the first round.
