I don't get Sci-Fi but I've seen bits and pieces of this show. Is it any good? Worth picking up the DVDs when they come out in Jan?

This "new" Doctor Who has been playing in the UK for quite a while. I think the US is on Season 2, but the UK is on Season 5 or so. We started late.

Both Tennant and Eccleston do very good jobs as the Doctor though I question how easily they become attached to Rose Tyler. I feel like thatseemed to be the most unbelievable part in this new series.

Why not catch some of the series online to see whether you'll like it or not?

The doctor has to be, in fantasy tv, a very lonely person.

I think he needs someone with him. Look how pissed off he got when Martha was taken in the lates ep.

I've not seen the older series, but the new one is fantastic. Really I can't decide if I like Christopher Eccleston or David Tennant better as the doctor. Eccleston was great and definately had his great moments. The end of the first season when Rose got taken hostage and he got all pissed was awesome. I still laugh when I think about Tennants first show up talking about having hair, something about teeth, and "Barcelona." I do miss Rose though. Martha's ok so far, but she hasn't replaced Rose by any means. I guess there's always the hope that somehow she'll return.

I cannot believe the fourth episode of this current season. The enemy is unbelievable and the ending ends on a cliffhanger.

....When can I talk about this episode freely without worrying about spoiling it?
