From its design to the amount of raw horsepower, the mustang is unsurpassed by any vehicle in this world.

Ford Model T voted most influential car in history

Chicago Sun-Times, Apr 21, 2003 by Dan Jedlicka

    Q. I feel that most people would select the Ford Model T as the most influential car of all time and the Ferrari as the ultimate dream car. Think I'm accurate?--E.N., Chicago
    A. You're half correct, at least according to the first annual online survey of auto hobbyists and collectors by Hagerty Insurance, a large collector car insurance outfit. Survey respondents voted the Model T the most influential car in history and selected the Chevrolet Corvette as their "dream car"--followed by the classic Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Bel Air, Ford Thunderbird and Shelby Cobra. Other survey findings: The Edsel dominated the "ugliest car ever made" category, although a 1958-60 Edsel convertible is valued at $29,200. More than half of survey respondents owned one to three collector cars.

actually id say its that old cadillac which came up with the controls we use today, way more influential than the model t, every single car now is built that way

sorry but people who know more about cars then you do made the choice.

    The selection process

An elaborate and formal process for deciding the Car of the Century was devised. It started in October, 1996 when a list of 700 cars was offered by the COTC organising committee as candidates for the award, which their experts had selected from recommendations made from within the car industry and from car clubs.
In February 1997 a list of 200 eligible cars was announced at the Amsterdam motor show, these had been selected from the 700 by an honorary committee of experts who were all independent and highly respected and experienced automotive experts.
The next step was for a jury of 132 professional automotive journalists, from 33 different countries, under the presidency of Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, to reduce the list to 100, which they did, and the result was announced at the Frankfurt motor show in September 1997.
The elimination process proceeded with an internet vote, open to the public, to select 10 cars, and for 25 cars to be selected by the jury of professional journalists. In fact, 9 out of the 10 cars selected by the public were also amongst the 25 selected by the journalists (the AC Cobra being the extra car selected by the public), so 26 cars were announced at the Geneva motor show in March, 1999 as the nominees for the next round.
