Im only going to include the ones with free trials / is free to play, so it isn't a complete list like the ones on a mmorpg site. If you want to add one to the list that has a trial & is worth playing, post it.

I'll include a personal rating for the ones I've played for at least a month.

    Anarchy Online

Info: A Sci Fi MMO with guns, magic (in the form of nano), swords & robots. Graphics are a bit stiff but it makes up for it with a perfect skill system.
Price: Free forever. Adding expansions will cost a monthly fee.
    Trial: n/a
    Size: 930mb
    Credit Card required: No
    Rating: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Asherons Call

Info: Graphics are very dated now but still has an amazing world filled with quests & helpful players. Probably the most addictive MMO I've ever played, although this was about 7 years ago.
    Price: $13 a month
    Trial: 14 days
    Size: 370mb
    Credit Card required: Yes
    Rating: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    City of Heroes

Info: Create your own superhero. Levelling can be a bit tedious but the awesome abilities you aquire make up for it.
Price: After trial, $15 a month
Trial: 10 days (PM me your email addy for CD Key)
    Credit Card required:
    Rating: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    City of Villains

Info: Same as City of Heroes but with a darker world. In my opinion, the villains have a more impressive skillset (visually) & the heroes have more enjoyable missions. Otherwise not much difference.
    Price: $15 a month
Trial: 10 days (PM me your email addy for CD Key)
    Credit Card required:
    Rating: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Eve Online

Info: If you're into space sims, you should be playing Eve. It takes a while to settle down into the game but get your head around the basics & you'll be hooked. Also, the potential for the future of this game is epic.
Price: After trial, $15 a month
Trial: 14 days (PM me your email addy for CD Key)
    Size: Choice between 2 clients (normal/high graphics) - 605mb/1.2gb
    Credit Card required: No
    Rating: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Everquest 2

Info: EQ2 started off slow but now has a massive amount of content added since launch. The world is ridiculously big & theres always something to do. Great alternative to WoW. PvP is awesome if you can get into it.
    Price: $15 a month
    Trial: 14 days
    Credit Card required: No
    Rating: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Final Fantasy 11

Info: Be prepared to dedicate 80% of your spare time to this game. The gameplay is addictive & the world is awesome if you're into FF.
    Price: $15 a month
    Trial: 14 days
    Credit Card required: Yes
    Rating: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
Download link: I have 1 key available for a trial, otherwise go here and request a trial key from someone. Unless someone else here has one available?

    Lord of the Rings Online

Info: Basically D&D Online + WoW put together with an added LOTR theme. Not a bad thing as it removes alot of the flaws of these games. Solid levelling system.
    Price: $14.99 a month
    Trial: 10 days
    Size: 4.7gb/6.6gb
    Credit Card required: No
    Rating: [IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Rappelz Epic IV

Info: Has a very good balance between fighting and magic. Great sense of community. Typical medieval MMO with a focus on leveling up (no cap), pet training, upgrading, and owning dungeons. Probably the best free MMOs you can find.

When it comes out, I'll be in for sure.

I said I'd be in for 2moons, but I got on it kind of late, and didn't feel like power leveling to catch up with everyone.

Archer class looks fucking sick. That's pure sex for sg_lurker.

    Thats cool, didnt realise.

Although I wouldn't say Guild Wars is a MMO, more of an online PvP action game.

There are three campaigns and one expansion that are great story-lines that comprise a huge amount of PvE.

It is interesting though, there is a rift in the player base in which the hardcore PvE crowd doesn't think anything of PvP, and the PvP crowd doesn't know the even is a crowd dedicated to hardcore PvE.

EQ2 crew - I installed the client and opened a trial account but when I open the client it's just a plain black screen with the EQ2 cursor. Anyone know what's up?

When I move my cursor around it changes to the text cursor etc as if there is a log in box there but it's still all black. Also I can't tab out, alt+f4 or ctrl-alt-del out of it; I need to restart my PC manually to get back to desktop.

    What graphics cards?

Got latest drivers? Sounds like you need to install drivers.

RADEON X800 Series (ATI Radeon Graphics Processor AGP (0x554D))

I'll check if my drivers are outdated now and hey thanks for the list - I was looking for a game more complex than WoW and it was a tossup between FFXI and EQ2. I'll probably try both if I can fix this issue :x:

Seems it wasn't the drivers. The video card may be faulty, it's old now anyway. I was planning on getting a new machine built anyway so I can run the likes of UT3 and CoD4 I guess i'll try FFXI in the meantime.

The price on LOTRO is 14.99 per month. They offered a switch to the 9.99 per month over this past Christmas if you set up to pay for 3 months of access at a time.

Also, they have a 10 day trial if you download the game. Buddy key trial is 7 days.
