The new album, The Bedlam in the Goliath comes out in stores next week. (The leak came out last week)
Are any of you as excited as I am about it?

i like mars volta, way better than that crap band at the drive in...

but seriously, i really liked francis the mute and de-loused in teh comatatorium, so if their new stuff is as good, it should rock...only thing i don't care so much for is, they start to sound the same after a bit, like every song is just part of one big song...even ac/dc and greenday, whose stuff sounds the same, has some difference between songs...

Do you mean every song on an album sounds the same, or all the songs together? I thought that was the point because its all a long story.

i mean that all the songs on both of the albums i have sound pretty similar, like they wrote a great song, and just kept re-writing it. like, at the drive in sounded completely different, and to me, they are the same band. maybe it's just the "mars volta sound"....

I get to see them Friday Night in a venue that only holds about 1,500 people. I am pumped!

It took me a few listens to the new album but I love it. It hasn't left my cd player in my car.
I'm actually going to buy the cd vinyl/dvd version.

thank you for explaining for yourself most of the reason i dislike ATDI....the fans are a bunch of bitches......and they also don't adhere to forum rules. keep the flaming and vulgarity here:

smell that? that is sarcasm son, nothing in the world smells like that.

you see, at the drive in is the same band as mars volta. i was joking. perhaps if you put down the crack pipe and read the part where i say "but seroiusly" you might have understood it. then again, perhaps you wouldn't have, as sarcasm is difficult to understand. either way, i know they are not crap, i like at the drive in.

ok, they are not EXACLTY the same, but the main members are the same, so to me, for all intents and purposes, they are the same band.

Not really sure how I feel about Mars Volta. I know a bunch of people who are really into them, but I haven't heard enough of their stuff to really be that interested, though I did like the few things I did hear.

Having the same members doesnt make it the same band. A sound is what makes a band. The sound of At the Drive End and Mars Volta are extremely different which is what makes them a different band.

Foo Fighters has mostly the same members of Nirvana, yet, they are very different bands.

i'll maintain that you're an idiot, but let me go on to say, that thats a good reason to not like a band, by the way. because you dont like the fans.
    brilliant.

as much as i like the mars volta, and i do... a lot... sometimes i feel that in the hour and a half that i just spent listening to them, there was only 20 minutes of actual music and the rest was just ambient noise and aural masturbation on behalf of the artists involved.
hopefully the next album will be more like Deloused and less like Frances.

being that it's most of your reason, my point still remains. it shouldnt be a reason at all.

    idiot.
