Just saw it today, and I think it is mostly crap.

The only thing that carries this movie is Adam Sandler. He is hilarious as usual, but the rest of the cast sucks. Every gag and joke in this movie seems like a joke for little kids, but the word "shit" appears 100 times.

    5/10

agree, it is stupid enough it makes ya laugh a couple times, but it really eats shit when you stop to think about it walking out of the theatre.

    Watch the original Longest Yard

    Then

Watch Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore which ever you prefer

That will give you the best of both worlds

the new longest yard sucks shit compared to original and it isn't the best Sandler movie, not even top 5

That sucks. I was planning on seeing it tonight but we put it off for Monday. I will still check it out and see for myself. I was really looking forward to Chris Rock and Adam Sandler together.

wow, im surprised at all the poor reviews given so far. i thought it was hilarious and one of the best comedy movies i've seen in quite some time now. i think the combination of chris rock and adam sandler proved to be a great comedic duo. i was also pleasantly surprised by the relatively good acting put in by michael irvin and nelly along with the skew of wrestlers that were a part of the movie. i think this movie is definetly a must see and if star wars wasn't out right now this would definetly by the #1 in the box office

I watched The Longest Yard last night and thought it sucked!! It was way, way to unrealistic for me!! I like Adam Sandler a lot and he's the only good thing about this movie.

I was really surprised by how much I liked this.

Anyone else see the trailer for the honeymooners? That looks like it could be funny.

if you just want to see a dumb sandler / rock movie it's ok, but if you expect it to stay true to the original at all then you'll f'n hate it, i was somewhere in between, it was stupid but made me laugh a few times. i'd wait till it was on video if i knew then what i do now

I enjoyed the movie... i thought it could have been better. It was a shame to see that they are still recycling every joke from all of Sandler's other movies.

He definitely has his comedy clique thats in every movie with him. I chuckled at Schneiders line as I always do. I just didnt laugh nearly as hard as when he did it in the Waterboy.

I saw it last night, I thought it was better. It was better than the english soccer version called the mean machine from a couple years ago. I didn't realise that it was the same story line before I went and saw it, it just started seeming a bit familar within about the first 5 minutes of the movie. It was better than the english version though, complete different type of humour between the americans and english as expected. American football was better than soccer for this sort of movie I think.

My girlfriend even liked it which is unusual as she is difficult to get to the movies enough as is.

I like the little bits carried over between the adam sandler films and some of the characters that are always there.
