This was prolly gonna happen sooner or later, so I figured I'd start it off. Fucking amazing loft. Probably my favorite one I've seen so far. The owner made some impeccable choices and wasn't afraid to use plastic pieces :coold:

that guy OBVIOUSLY has both money and taste, because looking at his furniture, it appears as though he set up a house account with DWR and just went to town.

I'm gonna buy knockoffs of those Starck Prince Aha stools (the white hourglass-shaped ones) that he has in his living area

I love the colors of paint and the layout, but a lot of the furniture isnt really my tastes, its too random for me. it works well though, and there are a lot of decorations that i love.

edit: i think what i dont like about it, is it feels non liveable to me.. not much of a home comfortable place to live.

Personally, I hate when everything matches. That sort of design went out with the 80's. Now, modern design is in a stage of eclectic minimalism where the style is based on mixing and matching so that it looks like the room was put together piece-by-piece over time rather than purchased all at once. It serves the purpose of mixing up the lines of the space while simultaneously matching to the person's tastes.

It's not uncommon to see a new couch from Crate & Barrel combined with a midcentury modern chair or lamp and a vintage coffee table :o

    looks awesome!

you'd think with all that money he spent on decor, that he could have dropped a little cash to upgrade the TV too :mamoru:

call me old fashioned, but i like matching.

im sort of OCD about matching and symmetry so i'd go crazy in that type of house..

i still like it and would totally hang out there if it were a friends place.

and werd about the TV set.. i was like :hsugh:

"comfy" sorta implies intimate and you're not gonna get that with a loft space. The purpose of a loft is to live in an open industrial space, and while you can warm that up with warm tones and materials, I have yet to see one that I'd call "comfy" that's just not plain small :hs:

the only thing i don't like is a lot of the rooms look so dark. brown paint black furniture etc

it looks nice though and maybe the lighting was just turned down for the pictures but i'd want my place to be brighter (not necessarily the colors like neon and shit just overall more light)

I don't mind that the walls are neutral, but I sorta see your point about the lighting. I dunno wtf is up with xmas lights on that one wall, but I think everything else is working pretty well.

I bet it's tough to light a space like that with such high ceilings. You can't do recessed, for obvious reasons, so you're pretty much just left with track and pendant lighting combined with floor lamps and sconces to do the job. Basically, you're not gonna get the same level amount of light as you would in a more enclosed space unless you just go crazy with the lamps. At least during the day time you get a ton of natural light :dunno:

oh, and I'm pretty sure they were using dimmers and possibly a long shutter to take some of those night pics. They look a little too good to be real to me :hs:

ahh that's a good word to describe it: industrial

I love the style but I think I'm too messy of a person to pull it off :mamoru:

that's exactly my type of space. Everyone who comes to my apartment is amazed at how roomy it feels despite being a relatively small studio. I don't like having a lot of stuff. I just like to have a few things that really make bold statements :hs:

When I moved last, I got rid of EVERYTHING and bought all new stuff suited exactly for this new space. I'm still decorating slowly as I get the cash, but I have everything picked out already in my head :hs:

I can't afford to be. for the past 3 years, I was moving every year, so the less shit I had the better off I was. After college, I tried to get rid of as much shit as I could, realizing that I had wasted a lot of cash on stuff that I never really used or even wanted. During my last move, I got rid of almost EVERYTHING and started over, buying only stuff that I had time to think about before purchasing. Now I actually have more storage than I need

 I noticed that too. That space wasn't staged very well at all. I think they probably just had a couple chairs left over and they happened to fit that space.

Either that or the intended the loft for someone who liked to have an audience while they showered :noes:
