I am surprised there isn't a thread about this movie - The Lake House - with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. The concept is great... they both live in the same house, except Sandra Bullock's character is 2 years in the future. I sense there will be some kleenex in the theatres for this one... check it out:

Looks asinine. My wife lusts after Keanu & wants to bear his children and not evens SHE wants to see it (so we;ll probably wait for Netflix :-\ ).

Don't most chick flicks have the couple actually meet?

The GF wanted to see it, but I think I have talked her into seeing "Cars" instead.

I can't wait to see this. I'm seeing it tomorrow night with my BF. I'm a big fan of Sandra Bullock and my BF is a fan of Keanu's. I think it will be a great movie. :)

Doesn't Keanu die and that is how Sandra gets his lake house?

No. That's all I'm saying. The movie is very good though. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was good to see Sandra Bullock on the big screen again. :)

I will be seeing this one tonight.. It should be decent. And I heard the mailbox is like a time machine and that is how they communicate, Is this right? Also it is hard knowing that bill s. preston is now in this role and in the role on speed. He does the californian surfer very well..

It was just okay to me. My gf loved it. Kinda reminded me of the Notebook... Chick flick that was just a little too slow and romantic for me. Worth seeing once.

    >>>>>SPOILER ALERT<<<<

This movie is just one big paradox. Not to give away anything, but she changes something in the past from the future towards the end. However that event was what led up to how everything began.

"The Lakehouse" is just a copy/remake of a Korean romance movie called "Il Mare" made in 2000. Haven't seen it yet, but I doubt it'll be as good as "Il Mare".

Saw the movie recently, here's what I thought:
The story of The Lake House is one of magic, love, and romance, which was EXACTLY what I expected going in to the theatre and exactly what I was treated with for the entire length of the movie.

Go see the Lake House if you have an open mind to magic and the mystery of love. This movie is definitely for people who have at least a speck of imagination in their system and go to movies to see something that they can’t in every day life.

Artistic scenery and beautiful all around cinematography made The Lake House a joy to watch. Also, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock make the story more believable and heartfelt because you can see that they used raw emotion when portraying their characters.

Overall I am extremely happy with my choice to see this movie and recommend it to anyone with an open mind who is ready for some magic (and maybe some sparks!)

I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.
Keanu has matured as an actor. I liked trying to figure out things.
Felt really sorry for Sandra at the restaurant.

And I would love to rent that house for the summer. Have to love the indoor maple tree. (And hate the sap, leaves & bugs when cleaning.)

i am shocked that anyone liked this movie. i went to see it with a friend and found the plot to be so fantastical that i couldn't focus on the relationship itself. and keanu reeves is horrible. i just can't get over the way he talks.

i had high hopes for this one and was really disappointed. i wish i could get those two hours back.
