The "I can't gain weight even though I eat so much" people/friends

    I have a few friends who claim they eat so much yet they cannot put on weight

    After living with 3 of them over the past 3 years at 3 different places I have come to realize their definition of "eating so much" is nothing.

    This of course drives me crazy enough to post about it on OT.

    Whos with me?

    i eat on average 1600 calories a day...i used to be 135-140, after a car accident im down to 120 and i really can't get it back

    I used to be one of those, then I learned I was making lazy excuses like fast metabolism and decided to step it up.

    here's what i ate today :/

    breakfast

    3 eggs in scrambled eggs
    1 large bowl of lentils with a egg in it
    4 shrimps on vegetable nests

    lunch
    salmon and curry with rice, 2 large bowls
    8 shrimp cocktails
    half a plate of vegetarian tofu "meat"
    bowl of veggies

    diner
    chicken shawarma
    plate of veggies
    truck chinese noodles :wtc:
    large latte
    gingerbread cookie
    granola bar
    yogurt and granola parfait

    I walked around at 170 for a long time and yeah I ate a shitload at lunch and dinner... but hardly ate shit else the rest of the day.

    Now I eat way smaller portions but I eat 6-7 times a day and I'm 30lbs heavier even though I don't typically have a cal deficit over the weekend from laziness or drinking instead of eating.

    i probably don't eat as much as you guys, but i shit 2-3 times a day.

    i used to be one of those guys :hs:

    I think it got easier for me to gain weight as I got older. :dunno:

    I used to be like that. I could eat shit all day long and not gain a pound.

    Now it seems that if I eat anything outside of a strict diet (tons of fish, rice, oats, eggs and milk) I gain fat instantly. Though the upside is I gain and retain muscle and stength like whoa. How did my metabolism get so slow?

    Yes I know some of these people and it takes a great deal of patience to listen to their bs excuses.
    I consider the super skinny to be just as pathetic as the excessively fat.

    I can tell you what I have learned from personal experience throughout the years. Skinny people don't eat near what they say they do and fat people eat at least 75% more than what they say they do. The truth hurts!!

    I used to live with 2 of my buddies and both of their gf's. I ate more than all 4 of them put together. I went from 185 to 260 in a little over a year. One of them was a really skinny dude and he finally realized that he wasn't eating shit after watching me for a few months.

    I used to think that way. Then I started working out, and I started eating so much :yum: and realized how little I truly was eating.

    Don't worry, it will catch up with them and bite them in the ass.
    I used to be one of them. Then I hit my mid-20's, and suddenly gained like 70lb.

    I graduated highschool weighing 125.

    I'm now somewhere around 210....

    All it took to correct the issue was 10 Guinness per night for 2 years straight.

    So tell them to try that out. Should sort out the issue.

    My friend says he eats more than I do and he's 70 pounds lighter.

    I'm below maintenance at 2300 or so.

    He claims over 3000 cals/day. So for a couple days I kept track of what he eats and low and behold, it's ~1800 cals.

    He orders a LOT of food or gets a LOT from the cafeteria, but eats 1/3 of it.

    But like Pur said, my 2300 is probably closer to 3300 :wtc: I suck at cutting

    I went on a SUPER bulk for about a year. I was eating around 5,000 clean calories a day. I was so sick of eating but I kept stuffing my face and piling the weight on. I'm 6'6" and I was at 185 lbs. I didn't realize how skinny I looked until I saw some vacation pictures. I went straight to the kitchen and ate a big meal.

    I used to be like that as well until I saw some of the diet plans on F&N that involve eating 6-7 meals a day.

    I tell them once or twice. If they persist I just shrug my shoulders and tell them to be happy being skinny if they don't want to put in the effort to actually make any changes.
