    haven't been here in a long time

    but a tv commercial brought me back

    a movie starring ashton kutcher and waterworld guy about the coast guard......

    then again I don't really hate on any other branch or service that much.

    it was a decent movie, pretty low on the cheesy scale. on the same note, flyboys was pretty good only slightly more cheesy.

    flyboys was entertaining yes, but very cheesy and very unrealistic

    i didn't see flyboys, but i personally thought the guardian was an excellent movie. pretty true to the military style of things in general.

    They filmed parts of that movie across the street from my house on Barksdale AFB.:eek3: I have yet to see if my house made the movie.

    It had a very Officer and a Gentlemen feel to it. At one point, I was waiting for Ashton to yell 'I GOT NO WHERE ELSE TO GOOOO!!!!"

    there were a couple super-cheeze moments in flyboys, like the whole "KNIGHTS OF THE AIR!!!" line and the uber-christian guy singing "onward Christian soldiers" during the battles.

    otherwise the flying shots were beautiful (albeit CGI mostly), and i wouldn't really dare to criticize the realism since flying back then was just so incredibly different than it is today.

    I agree the flight shots were neat to watch

    I guess the straight vertical and inverted flying got me.
