http://www.thecmp.org/22targetsurplus.htm $175 R22M44 - These rifles were manufactured for the U.S. Army between 1943 and 1949. The M44 weighs 8 lbs. and is 43 inches in length and comes equipped with a Mossberg micrometer click receiver peep sight. Ammunition is fed through a 7 round detachable magazine (not sold with the rifle). CMP does have a small quantity of these magazines and they may be purchased separately while quantities last. Magazines are available through commercial sources. These rifles are over 55 years old, but show little evidence of use. Trigger guards are made of plastic that has shrunk and has become very brittle. Many of the trigger guards are cracked. Those that are not cracked may crack during shipment or later use. Replacement trigger guards are not available through the CMP, but are available from commercial sources. Red / Green plastic safety indicator buttons may be missing. Except for the condition of trigger guards and missing magazines, the remainder of the rifle would be classified NRA very good. Shipping and Handling $22.95 per rifle. If I had a CMP membership I would have already bought one. First rifle I ever shot was an M44. These have been going on gunbroker for $300+ all day long for a year. If someone was to "accidentally" order two I would probably be inclined to relieve you of one.
