It's heavy, it's powerful, it doesn't have a transverse drivetrain...yeah, I'm sure it's a gas guzzler. Buy a Prius to drive to work.

^^ how terrible...Even if I floor it everywhere in my VQ35 6-speed maxima I don't get that...the worst I've seen is 19 and that included time on a road course and several pulls on the interstate on our 60 mile drive there with a charger and G35...Normally I get 23 in the city and well over 30 on trips (although the highway mileage I'm sure is much better than the G's because of my longer gearing)

As for the OP: those wheels don't look good on that color at all, the headlights are fogged, and the grille is pretty meh. Stock it looks better IMO but to each his own.

Are you an enthusiast looking to trade this in for a GSX?
    Pics of you?

    :mamoru:

Seriously though, lose those headlights. Is that an OEM or Aftermarket front bumper? Also, Is that a scratch going along side of your car, or ugly pinstriping. The wheels , I like.

Are you going by the notoriously inaccurate trip computer or the actual math? Mine typically shows 23-25 mpg city but actually doing the math (miles driven divided by gallons to fill) shows 19-21 mpg. I drove down to Austin, kept the cruise on 72 mph most of the way, comptuer showed 29.2 mpg and the actual was around 25 mpg. :sad2:

I'll be driving out to Kentucky next month, much less hilly than going down to Austin, but I am really only expecting mileage similar to the EPA rating, around 26 mpg.

Fuck no, I always calculate my gas mileage by hand on every tank. My trip computer normally reads about 25 and I never reset it....And I've never achieved the shitty EPA rating on the highway. Lowest I've ever gotten was 29 and that was due to an enormous headwind on my way to Houston once. My last trip I got 33 mpg. 6-speed > auto.

Your Maxima has a transverse drivetrain. That works out to about 5% more drivetrain efficiency on a bad day.

Even if that were true, which is possible but not proven, take 95% of my worst gas mileage and it still isn't near what he says he gets regularly....and that tank I got 19 I was at redline a LOT. idk how you can normally get that bad with a VQ35 unless you just floor it everywhere, in which case you probably shouldn't be driving...

He probably drives around town in 1st gear. Well at least I do sometime, just because I can do 40mph in first gear. :mamoru:

IMO, that's the worst color you can get the G35 in. Doesn't fit the car AT ALL.

I like the rims, but not with that color car. Prob would go with a silver wheel and I'm also not a fan of the blacked out headlights/side markers on that color.

How stout are the OEM G35 struts? Most Japanese cars you'll be bouncing your head on the ceiling with just some lowering springs on there...

How about a taller final drive ratio?

nah, the ratios are fine as is (well, except the 2nd to 3rd shift....b/w 30 and 35mph that sucks. I go from 4,000rpm to 2,000rpm.....I have to either sound like I don't know how to shift, or have no throttle response.). I'm going to try to pickup a 5-spd this summer. Might sit on it till I get a P90 head though.

    My 1st goes to 52.
Its not uncommon for me to ride around in 1/2 gear without any regard to noise level.
    Having a C6Z06's transmission would be badass though, 1st going to 60+ :) :)
