    i remember when I first heard about the blue ray technology. I almost crapped my pants.

    for the record, nothing will 'replace' VCR's there is simply still too much stuff out on VCR and too many existing things out to replace it. When DVD's got popular they said VHS tapes would be out in a matter of years... im still lookin around and VHS is in no way dead. It has slown down yes, but i see just as many VCR's as DVD players when i go to best buy.

    IMO I don't think we've reached the point where DVDs are that popular yet.

    IMO they are that popular but they just need to simplify the DVD burner set top boxes so the masses can use them

    they also are still way too expensive for your average joe to go out and buy one

    a vcr will run you like $50 compared to a DVD burner set top box $400-$800
