    I started working out yesterday. Last week I slowly changed my diet and am getting used it now. Today I picked up a box of Special K Strawberry bars and had one for breakfast with milk but I thought it was a bit too sweet ...

    Today for cardio:

    Treadmill, 15 minutes, .75 miles. .60 miles of walking @ 3, sprinting/running @ 5 for .15

    Triceps: 1x12 15; 2x10 40; 1x10 35;

    Chest area: 4x10 30

    Back: 2x10 30; 2x10 40

    Abs: 4x12 40;

    Side muscles: 2x10 30;

    After the work out, I ate a bar, and replaced the milk with Soy Milk.

    <3

    I weighed myself yesterday, and I won't weight myself until the end of the week. At the moment, I'm trying to build muscle, and lose fat. SO ... my goal I guess is shedding at least 1# a week. Is that too much too fast or what?

    Edit to add:

    New work out song: 120 minutes of DJ Summer

    Hey man, good job on taking the initiative.

    Check out the "wanna be a bodybuilder or look like one?" sticky at the top of the main page for a great routine and diet information.

    There is more diet information and advice on tons of topics in the Archives, so browse that as well.

    Good luck and good job again on getting started.

    I get plenty of protein, had tuna and chicken boob yesterday with a giant salad and some orange segments.

    Maybe I'll mix it up with some jerky.

    Breakfast: Beef Jerky, peppered, 4 pieces

    Today's Workout

    Vertical extension (i think that's what the machine is called. It's where you work the two big patches of muscles from your back).

    Tread mill: 11 minutes, .55 miles total. .45 walking @ 3, .10 sprinting/running

    Elliptical machine: 18 minutes, mostly stairs and medium strides.

    Snack after work out: 1 celery stalk, 1tbsp peanut butter, 1/4 c of dried fruit (dried banana, cranberries, apricots, raisins, cherries).

    if you're losing weight beef jerky is a really bad idea because it's just sodium and preservatives and sugar on top of a tiny bit of meat..

    Hmm, thanks for the tip. I'll stay away from beef jerky then. A friend said that beef jerky is good for you because it's high in protein, low in fat, and low in sodium.

    For dinner:

    1C steamed broccoli
    A couple of small shrimp
    Fillet of tilapia fish
    a cup of rice

    I feel like a total asswipe because I had to be taking it slow this week. The workout last week totally aggravated my Sciatica so I wasn't able to do much on Saturday or this past week except Cardio and really light weight stuff.

    On another note, had the SO do a 2 mile walk with me since it was so nice outside. YES--we went up hills, went down hills, jogged up steps and etc. It felt good :)

    As far as food goes, still eating fish, chicken breast, and lean meat in general. I'm a little torn between brown rice and white rice.

    On another note, I'm having Udon tonight (rice pasta) with jumbo shrimp and chicken breast. I'm going to sate it with EVO. This is OK, right?

    Been packing nonstop today... this is my break. I better enjoy it.

    The move is tomorrow, and then the unpacking starts.

    Moving fucking sucks.
