    This is a place holder.

Hopefully this one won't get purged when some idiot mod decides to fuck with my account again.

I'm still trying to make an action that sorts the selected items in finder and moves them to a specific folder.

I take pics in JPG and RAW. I keep them in a folder organized by event. I then make a RAW folder inside the event for the RAWs. It's tedious work sometimes. It'd be nice to select all the files in a folder and let automator do the rest.

In for a tutorial on automator...

I know perl, and can get it to do basically anything I want to script, so I use very little automator... I'd like to learn some more.

Can someone explain how I can automatically have any picture saved to my desktop resized by HP Photosmart Edit as a "Webpage Display" picture with a 640 * 480 pixels dimension?

Because whenever I upload pics from my camera to iPhoto and then want to post them on OT or send them in e-mail they come out huge, and I need to drag them to my desktop, individually open each one using HP Photosmart Edit, click resize image, and then set it to the dimension above.

When it's only one pic it's not a huge deal but when it's a bunch it becomes a pain in the ass.

    Thanks :wavey:

    try this.

    1. create folder on desktop called pictures

    2. create the following in automator
    [IMG]

    3. save as plugin
    [IMG]

    4. select finder from dropdown menu

    5. select all pics, right click, and select the following

    6. wait a few seconds and your new pics will show up with the name "small xx"

Thanks, that was awesome. I had to tweak it a little bit because you are running Leopard and I'm still a Tiger but it worked just the same.
