The definitive guide (for F&N) to when it is appropriate to use lifting straps.

    1) When you are doing volume deadlift work at weights over 500lbs
    1.1) a max using straps is not a real max

    2) When you are doing pull ups, cable pull downs, rows at weights 2x your body weight
    2.1) If you have to use straps for your shrugs you're just being a pussy

    3) If you're gay


    In all other instances with even moderate grip training your holding grip will be more than strong enough to support your weights and allow to "focus" on the muscles being worked.

    I disagree. Most strongmen use straps when doing the shrug in training. Are they pussies too?

    yea i saw your PA Strongman video. you smoked that guy at the tire flip. his tire looked like a 600lb tractor tire. what was yours, 33" BFGoodrich?

    it was actually a metric version so it was around 31.8"
