Sweet show and yes they talked about it here, although my memory sucks for paraphrasing, but it wasn't an epic thread. Someone did upload the whole season or gave a link or something.

Very solid show, I just finished watching the first season. I enjoyed the fact that they were all very legit MT guys.

Ive sparred with John and Bruce, Sorens also from my old home town too never got to spar with him but have seen him fight. Those guys are serious fighters and have good experience and success internationally.

That's awesome dude. I had sparred with Trevor a long while back when he was still an amateur fighter, the dude is very good. I don't think the show really did him credit as he had to fight one of the toughest fighters right off the bat. My patriotism wanted him to demolish at least a few people haha.

TUF should get guys from around the world rather than just Americans.

The Contender Asia was a great show. They all (minus Rafik) seemed like classy guys. Not like the douche bags you see in TUF.

Yeah, I completely agree. I genuinely enjoyed watching these guys get a chance to go there and win prizes. You could tell they were from lower income backgrounds and they truly appreciated everything.

Rafik was such a Moroccan it isn't even funny, so many have that *exact* kind of attitude in France.

I hate the term, but holy shit that kid showed heart. I havent seen someone take an ass-whooping liek that and still press the action in ages.

I really wish JWP would have been more clear and just said, "abandon all kick and just press him with your hands".

He just wasnt fast enough and was getting wrecked everytime he threw a kick. If he had pressured him wuith his hands the whole time, i think it wouldnt have been such a monumental beat down.

yeah, but weren't most of them already champions. the winner was expected from the beginning to be one of 3 , argueably 1 of 2 fighters.

It's new to me and I'm liking it so far... MUCH better than TUF. You actually have seasoned fighters and none of the "get drunk trash the house" antics...

Just watched a few reruns last night of this show. First I had heard of it and like it. I don't really know much about Muay Thai. Are they doing 5 2min rounds? I didn't hear them say.

Five 3 minute rounds. 3 minutes is pretty much standard.

Yeah I kinda lose track of time when I watch others fight. It seemed shorter than 3 mins. I'm weird I guess.

My DVR fucked up and didn't record the new episode last night, just the two I had already seen :madfawk:

This show is much better than TUF so far (except for TUF1)
