I figure there are a lot of OTers who are in the business world that would love to upgrade their boring work attire.

First of all, the term "business casual" can be a bit ambiguous. It can mean anything from a collared shirt, tie, nice slacks & wing-tip shoes... all the way down to a polo shirt, khakis & work boots.

This will be a general purpose thread to suit the whole spectrum.

I have heard there are certain color combinations that signify power, success, etc in a work environment. What are the types of colors "successful" people should wear? I know there are books out there, & style consultants that get paid lots of money just on how to dress for success.

So with all that said, lets get something started. I am ignorant on this subject & would love to see some ideas on good business casual outfits.

    GO!

Ive noticed I have a style of shirt I have dubbed "deal maker", its a bright blue/white striped shirt. I remember reading how colors do certain things to peoples pyschy and blue is associated with loyalty.

    failthread.

Can anyone at least suggest me a store to find some good quality collared business shirts? Perhaps if I can see some pics dressed on models I can get some good ideas that way.

if you have a chance to goto asia, there are some quality tailors for cheap you can go to. while i was in shanghai i got 3 full suits along with 8 shirts for about 600 USD. fit and quality of fabric is excellent

if you don't have the chance to go then i'd recommend uniqlo iron-free shirts. fit/quality is better than any other store in that price range (h&m, express, etc)
