(Chances are one in a googolplex but...)

Let's say in just over 1.5 years, Obamasama get's into office and a UK style gun control policy is passed (take your guns away from you). Not just a ban, but making it a felony (for civilians) to possess a firearm unless you turn it into the police station. Keep in mind that they still have all the records of your registered weapons.

What would happen? What would you do?

Not sure exactly how I would respond, but I could guarantee there will be a lot of casualties on the side of homeowners and the government trying to enforce such a measure.

It would be pointless to say that you sold them or lost them. You wouldn't be able to lawfully defend yourself with them or shoot them anywhere. More than likely it wouldn't be a door to door type thing, it would be a turn in your firearms at such and such location, you have two months of amnesty, after that you're a felon.

Any law enforcement officer or soldier that attempted to enforce such laws would be committing treason against the United States of America.

Why is everyone saying Obama is going to take their guns away?

Obama cannot do SHIT but sign a bill or veto it. It's the CONGRESS that we should be worried about. Luckily we, the gun owners, still have plenty of allies there.

I think he was more referring to possible raids by the government on known gun owners homes 4473 records and states with registrations CWP holder ect. It might be a far fetched idea but so is the quick all out ban. People get shot by police for many things that the police think are weapons like a wallet. If the cops bust in to take your guns at dinner time and you are cutting up a carrot you are going to be "armed" and if you are too shocked by swat at shotguns you might not drop it.

plus he said on the homeowners side not the FBIs side.

Obama claims to be more for registrations, so it would be a slow path anyways.

However having a president that would sign a much stricter gun control law into law may well embolden the antis in congress.

As an LEO I can assure you that an order of this sort wouldn't be enforceable.

They wouldn't use Law Enforcement. They'd go straight to the Russian or Chinese military and disarm us like we disarmed the Australians.

I would expect a full out succession from numerous states following in suit of Montana. Not too sure of how many unit members would follow orders to shoot American citizens if all out martial law is declared, I think it would be a bad day for the US Government if such an issue was to arise. As dumbed down as people are, I think the masses are starting to realize that they have been lied to and have been under control for the last 60 years and the constitution is dwindling rapidly right before their eyes. Wether you want to believe this once great nation is in turmoil is totally up to you. Americans only know what's shown to them on the evening news, our societal structure is collapsing all around us, and soon I truly beleive it will be American versus America. A Nation is much like an airline, to avoid bankruptcy it merges with another airline to sustain itself for the time being. This is why the North American Union has been put into to play, it's the same as the EU and the AU, all you have to do is look outside of the perameters and will be as clear as day to you.

I honestly believe that a civil war could easily be started over gun rights.

    I wonder if I could fit a BMP3 in the garage :eek3:

Nothing will happen overnight they'll just keep slowly whittling our rights away untill we have none.
