I graduated with a guy who got a teaching degree, then went
to China to teach English. He's been there for around 20 years now.

Well he bangs himself a lot of Chinese girls, and he says that they are just the sweetest things when they are in they're 20's, but that they hit the wall harder than any other nationality when they hit their late 30's-40's.

What does "hitting the wall" mean in this context?

Oh. I thought it had to do with personality. It must be all the smog and the complete lack of high-quality protein in the diet.

Then again, we in America really are spoiled with all the shit our women have to keep themselves looking pretty. Hell, my mother's 52 and she hasn't gone through menopause yet. She's also 95lbs. Dunno how she does it.

I think it's inspirational to see people in their 50's or older that take such good care of themselves.
I was at a sub shop a couple of weeks ago, and this guy who was at least in his early 50's, I would guess, rode up on a 5k Trek road bike.

And the guy, I swear on my eyes, was in the same kind of shape that the Tour de France guys are, minus the massive thighs. Guy was probably around
5'9, and maybe 135. And I'm talking about maybe 6-8% body fat, I swear to God.
I was with my kids, and I struck up a conversation with the guy.
We were by the national park system out near Cleveland, and the guy was hitting the park hills that day (BIG HILLS). How can you not be inspired by that?
I wound up going for a 3 hour bike ride later that week.
And I'm just getting ready to go out again in a few minutes.

I don't want to wind up being in my 50's and being a fat pudgy geek like some people I know!

I love biking. Running is so slow and futile by comparison. Not to mention the techie side of my personality likes the idea of dozens of parts all working in harmony.

    ...meanwhile, back on the topic...
