The Barbell DEADLIFT - What muscle groups does it work?

    On bodybuilding.com it says barbell deadlift:

    main muscle group worked - quadriceps

    other muscle groups worked - hamstrings, calves, glutes

    But it works lower back too but they don't mention it, is that right or am I doing it wrong because I've always believed it to be primarily concerned with lower back. :ugh:

    It works everything from your hamstrings all the way up to your traps

    here's a list from exrx

    * Gluteus Maximus
    * Quadriceps
    * Adductor Magnus
    * Soleus
    * Hamstrings
    * Gastrocnemius
    * Erector Spinae
    * Trapezius, Middle
    * Trapezius, Upper
    * Levator Scapulae

    The list of muscles it doesn't work is smaller than the list of muscles it does work.

    Also, has anyone tried reverse grip deadlifts? I've never seen them before, looks like it's one of those movements that forces you to correct your form.
