GUN The AR flash hider thread got me thinking v. AK muzzle brakes.

    I've got a slant brake on my AK at present, but I'd like something that mitigates the recoil a little better, is the AK74 brake my only option? Needs to be .30 cal btw.

    Few different options out there, but 74 style will probably do the job best of the ones I've seen.

    The -74 brake design is basically the best there is for how cheap they are. Hell, if they weren't any good, people wouldn't be putting them on ARs as well.

    Eventually I want to get a mosin with a Perm -74 brake taking it to just over 16", and use that as a trunk gun.

    A 74 brake means I have to buy some new poly furniture and waffle mags, amirite? :mamoru:

    AMD-65 brakes do the best job IMO. You can probably pick one up pretty cheap. Most people who build AKs have to swap the original one for an extended one.
