Lost my gi and no gi fight to the same kid. He took first in both divisions too. Please help me with my game, because everybody says I can really beat him. What's throwing me off is that he has a very similar game as mine, but way more technical, and physically he has longer limbs than me.

I noticed in the second video had you used left bumper + right stick rotation you could have flipped him over about 54 seconds into it

    No Gi fight -

Sloppy pass attempt right when the video starts - can't do that in comps

Your "sweep"/upa attempt at 1 minute wasnt clean at all. You just flailed like you were panicing and he should have grabbed an armbar right there

In No Gi especially, keep your arms lower controlling his wrist and hips since you dont have the risk of gi chokes. Keeping your arms up high is why he kept gift wrapping you. Being gift wrapped isnt dangerous but it gives him time to think and plan his next step while you're trying to escape

You were close to the armbar escape at the end. Had you escaped it - you could have passed to side.

You win some, you lose some. Honestly I just think its an experience thing. You'll relax more with more mat time and more competition time.

this pretty much sums it up. I know play an intense, quick game but for "simple" things like guard passes - you need to take your time and set them up properly..

My advise is just slow down and keep after it. You got 3 place in NAGA - no shame in that brother.

Basically, yeah, work on using technical passes, and not just trying to run through opponent's guards.

    You're doing well, though, man.

I was really sloppy in these fights. Had too much adrenalin in me since I was really stoked to fight the guy again. I also made the huge mistake of falling into his game...rather than try to impose my own.

I need to learn to relax next time, and play my game.

2nd vid you had open guard a lot and you could not stop him passing, so I suggest on someone you cant control as much closing that guard up tight and high. Let him wear himself out and stop playing defense so much, once you went into defense mode it was over. GJ either way though.

im not even going to watch the video and yell you your problem

    1) not enough basics
    2) crap posture
    3) keep things tighter
    4) i lied i did watch the movie and dont get gift wrapped, if that happens you are beyond fucked by anyone who has half a clue
