didn't know you could hear VTEC from a SOHC automatic...I miss my 2k Si but telling people I had one made them think I was like these fools.

    Truth.

There are quite a few idiots in Civics; but there are idiots in every make/model of car. I've seen everything from fartcan-equipped Buick LeSabres to 6-cylinder Camaros with side pipes and "50s" on the rear.

Tools with junk are the same, regardless of what they drive. :mamoru:

my engine pops at higher RPM :dunno:. Course, thats because higher RPM for me is like 7,500, and one of my three carburetors is running a little rich at idle, so I get some spitting when the throttle closes.

It is always fun driving the 240Z when the ricers are out, cause none of them know what to make of it.

But damn if the idiots who do own Civics don't go out of their way to make it obvious that they're idiots. I swear it's so easy to spot a ricer in a Civic -- just about the only other combo that's as easy to notice is a ricer in an STi. Except the ricer in the STi at least has a legitimate performance car.

hmm, haven't seen too many ricers in STi's...unless your saying all STi's are ricey, in which case i would disagree.

Heh. I guess that would be fun, driving a vintage Japmobile through the middle of the F&F Fan Club.

I'm not saying there's a lot of them, just that the ones that are out there are easy to spot.

Hey, when you're stuck in traffic, even the best car starts to drone. That's when the sound system is a lifesaver.

Getting back on topic, am I the only one who didn't hear a goddamned thing when the VTEC "popped"?

that's true for any make/model though...singling out the civics and STI's is just ignorant

you can hear the crossover to the other lobe but nothing "pops". that's why I was surprised because i've driven a few Civic EX's with the SOHC VTEC engine and could never heard the crossover. that's why i think they swapped out the cam, the camshaft or running an shorty intake.

Technically yes, but Civics and STi's are classic choices for someone looking to be a ricer.

I've seen one or two that I thought were "tastelessly decorated" with exterior crap, but at least an STi can back up the look with performance. Not so for much of the Honda "wing and fartcan" crowd.

Civics, Sentras, Corollas, Accords, 200sx, and eclipses maybe but not the STI...sorry dude, not going to agree.

does anyone in here actually know what they're referring to when they call something rice? I bet 90% of you who constantly refer to it probably don't have a clue.

There are actually a few people in my area that are rice burners with STi's. They have no idea what they should and should not do to their STi's and look like total tools driving them.
