Anyone have one? Thinking about getting this one for Christmas :x:

Great price, good reviews (From what I see), reputable brand. Anything I'm missing? How is burn-in now a days with plasma? I use my TV mainly for video games and college football so burn-in would be a bad thing.

After all is said and done I can get the TV for ~850 OTD this weekend at sears :noes:

I'm looking at the same TV, and was looking for opinions lol. Good reviews on it.

Is this the one that is 1080p? If so, I totally want it. We'll see what happens come Christmas.

Yes it's 1080p. My dad used to work for sears and he's got a book of coupons that they send out every year for 100 off, plus the 150 off when you use your sears card, plus he's got 400 cash back on his sears card from purchases through the year, plus it's employee discount weekend so we get an extra 10% off on top of the 10% we always get (ends up at right around 18% total).

You should still not pause a game for too long. When you pause a game or a movie, change over to a TV channel.

The burn ins will eventually disappear. So if you have been watching a 1.33 show when you change over to 6x9 it will eventually erase the 4x3 blank image.

    I have the Pani 42P60u.

Just bought this TV for $1,100 at Sears. Haven't gotten to play around with it much, but the deal was just way too good to pass up.

Never thought I'd buy a TV from Sears...

Every piece of electronic equipment in my house that we bought new is from Sears. The deals we get are too good to be true sometimes.

My friend picked the 42px77u up today from Boscov's for $799 plus tax. They had the 50pz77u for $1099 but were sold out by the time we got there.

    The px is 720p, right?

Still a pretty good deal. Too bad he missed out on the bigger one. The only thing I'm worried about is that it won't be big enough for my family room :o I'm going to get a 60+" DLP this spring, but this will do until then. When I get the DLP I'll move the plasma to the master. I was going to buy them the other way around, but I got this for such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. Plus my shitty old Mitsu projection TV just crapped out a couple weeks ago so I needed something quick.

No, it's 1080p. You're going to be dissapointed going from the plasma to a dlp. I have a dlp in my living room and a plasma in my bedroom and it is a huge difference. The DLP has bad black levels and shadow detail. Spring for a 60" plasma...it's definitly worth it.

Just wanted to update that I got this TV for 865 OTD. Talk about a killer deal :eek3: It's freakin amazing. I need to get a new xbox with HDMI so I can play in 1080p since from what I've read, the pz77u doesn't display 1080p over component, only HDMI. I have my desktop hooked up to it via DVI-HDMI and it's fucking awesome. Free HD porno at 42" is badass

I also picked up an HD DVD player (IBiHDDVDisdead :ugh:). I got it for a great price so I went for it. Transformers is the only movie I've yet to watch, but it was fucking SICK! I have bourne ultimatum, oceans 13, and the new harry potter movie in HD as well that I've yet to watch.

Anyways, just wanted to update that I'm more than happy with this purchase. I also built a custom oak cabinet for it and my AV shit. I have pics of it being built but none of it completed, I'll have to get some this weekend.

I also realized I never responded to this. The px77u is NOT a 1080p TV. It will display 1080p, but it downscales it. That TV's native resolution is 1024x768.

I also still plan on picking up a large (60-65") DLP for in my family room. The 42" just isn't big enough for how large of a room I have (~20x40' great room). I don't want top of the line as it will mainly be used for video games and football. I just want BIG without breaking the bank :o

NO, the PX is a 720P model.

    check panasonics own website.

in response to the thread, get the PZ series, and get the 700U, not the 77U.
