My friend and i had an idea for a high fashion type shoot, so we just called to random people that had good faces for it, and we decided to go and do it. A collaboration shoot with the concept of high fashion.

The image turned out alot better than i thought it was going to. Let me know what you all think. ABR800 with 30" octobox (ie. moon unit) at 1/1 power high cam left pointing downward. I took a page out of Devin's editting a bit, or what i feel his editting look like. Desaturate the sky, high contrast, etc...

    The strong points are

    the composition
    subject matter is interesting
    cool environment

Parts that aren't working for me

the lady on the left is a tad darker than i would have liked to see her
the vignetting is a little on the extreme end
her skirt (on the right) makes for a strong reflector - the eye travels to the light/white areas of a photo

the weak points can probably fixed if you shot RAW, otherwise i would say it is a strong image.

edit: just noticed there is a funky shadow on the bag of the black lady. cheek bone on the right model could use a little liquify too

Excellent work. I think the girl in the foreground is lit perfectly in the facial areas. The girl in the background could have used a little more light.

I just hate the houses on the right. At first I felt like they were on some 30's Africa adventure but with the houses it looks too modern and out of place...and not it a good way. Palm trees and dunes > track homes. :dunno:

    Nice work.

Comp. and lighting wise, I fucking love it. It does look like some of Devin's work, as it has a 'captured' look instead of the typical 'fashion shot' look that you see a lot.

(not sure if i'm describing that right... drinking tonight...)

as far as high fashion, it's flawless. The girls clothes are the first thing i'm drawn too. So much so that i'd buy the skirt and knee high boots for the wife if I knew who made em.
