    I use Vim. The learning curve is a bit steep, but once you take the time to learn it, you'll realize how powerful it is. It's great because I can use the the same editor with the same settings on any machine I work on.

    notepad.
    I like ultraedit but its too slow to load.

    yeah a 2nd for vim. awesome tool but not worth the time unless you code a lot.

    As nice as just using notepad for coding is,
    it just makes it easier for reading to have syntax highlighting
