So two of my friends, my dad and I want to each purchase a SIG 225/p6 from aimsurplus.

They guy doing our FFL Transfer says if I am buying the guns as a gift, only I have to sign the paperwork, otherwise if they each are paying for their own gun, they will have to each fill out paperwork.

My question: Is it THAT important that they all fill it out? Or could I just buy them all in one purchase and they "gift" me each their cost of one gun? I seriously don't want to have to get them all to contact this guy, two of them are in 200miles away from this area.

    Your mother.
If it is a gift, you fill out the paperwork and give it to them.

There can be no "like value" exchange for the gift, as it is a gift (eg: no cash) - or else it would be a straw purchase.

Your FFL is an idiot, as most are.

Do yourself a favor and make the RECEIPIENT fill out the paperwork. A straw purchase is no small matter, and you don't want to be immediately "giving" a gun that you just bought to someone else.

Is he charging you anything? There is a Cash America Pawn in North Austin/Cedar Park that does transfers for $15. Just FYI.
