tethering on iphone...

    what is the status of this now? Does at&t charge you an additional fee on your bill if you tether your phone? Or only if you go overboard with the bandwidth?

    just jailbreak and do it for free using pdanet

    PDANet is a 15 day trial. After the trial is over, you can only access HTTP:// sites. So if you're trying to log on to any secure site, you're assed out. That includes logging on to myspace, facebook, bank sites, basically anything that uses HTTPS://. You can't use Instant Messengers either, or use Mail.app to check your email.

    Your best best is to jailbreak, install MyWi, but not use it. It somehow re-enables the iPhones "built-in" tethering capabilities.

    exactly what i did. works like a charm and if you use SBSettings you can hide the MiWi icon. piece o cake.

    we aren't? says where? i have seen numerous people talk about cracked apps in here and the new hotness. if we aren't allowed i will edit it out, but i have never seen that rule nor have i seen it enforced...
