It was surprisingly disappointing. I got back in my 95 celica I bought in High School and felt like I had more power in my dinky 120 hp engine than what the supposed 210 /w 180lb? torque this car had.

Guess I am back to looking at some Mazdas or maybe ponying up the 30K for a 370z. Can't really justify spending that much though.

I know the idea of the coupe was to mod it, but then whats the point of buying a new one with a factory warranty. Gen coupe, sadly, fail.

Not suprised...the V6 is the only one with any kind of power and it still fails to compete with the 350Z and much less with the 370Z.

Yeah, the 2.0 is not all that fast factory. It's clearly aimed at the tuner market, and to be fair, with a little tweaking would likely be quick. Even the 3.8 is not wildly quick, but not bad at all. Definitely a better choices for those that are less aftermarket inclined

They trap at 92 mph....they can't be THAT slow. The couple I've seen on the road look dead sexy, though.

my 240sx with sr20det almost stock on stock boost (200 crank hp) was 14.0 @ 99, why? 2700 lbs vs 3600

Except they don't weigh 3600, they weigh 3300. I bet once this car is broken in it won't feel as slow as they are new. They dyno at like 200 whp and 225 wtq....that's wayyy more than they're advertising, and this car can do better. My 3200 lb. maxima dynos nearly identical to that, and although it does have a better powerband, I ran a [email protected] at the track, which is considerably different than the [email protected] I've been seeing for the 2.0 genesis.

Regardless this is a very easy engine to mod. People are already making pretty insane power with them for very little money.
