Has anyone had this before? I have it in my inside left arm where my forearm and elbow meet. I get a real bad pain doing curls with a BB. I've had to drop BB curls and preachers from my workout because of it and use strictly DBs. It is rater frustrating because my left arm is 1 inch smaller and my arms are getting smaller. I've tried icing it, taking a week off, using straps on exercises like Deads and shrugs.

It's been like this for 4 months. I am not sure what to do other than taking a month of, which I think it would just come back anyway. :wtc:

i have tendonitis in my right elbow. as well as a 1/2 inch difference in my arms sizes. I took time off, then came back doing the same routine and it flayered up again. I've found that ezbar curls and the preacher curl machine don't irritate it like other exercises. btw the preacher machine at my gym has pads on the side to keep your elbows from moving as much which i think helped. Also, stretching out really well before, during and after helps.
:x: that this doesn't jynx me

the stretch i'm talking about is extending your arm in front of you, then bending your wrist up and hold, and down and hold. pull from your fingers when bending up, gets a deeper stretch for some reason.

For medial epicondylitis i'd get some A.R.T. done, use a strap on pulling exercises, and avoid exercises that irritate it the most.

Thanks - for the most part I've been doing this. Hopefully with the addition of ice, ibuprofen, and stretching I can minimize the pain.

I would have thought that since I've been lifting 5 years, that it would come along later down the road. I guess since I am getting to the "middle age" :noes: of my life this shit is starting to now pop up amongst other middle age issues. :wtc:

Sorry for not being clear, I meant I am using straps and staying away from exercises that would make it worse. When you say ART, are you referring to radiation treatment?

I found that pullups where I come to a full, relaxed hang before I pull agian caused my elbows to be furiously pissed off at me for some reason. If I keep tension in my arms and don't come quite as far down (to a slight bend instead of full extension) they're just fine. :dunno:

My issue isn't at the elbows. it's on the inside where the bicep meets the forearm. The same place where they draw blood.

Thats medial epicondylitus. I had the same thing. Couldn't do a whole lot for about 4 weeks. If you can get ART like ceaze set or ultrasound with physical therapy it will speed up recover@
