    2001 F4i...

lets say on a nice day (around 75-80degs outside), my bike runs at a consistent 182 degrees on the freeway.

but when i exit the freeway and start hitting street lights slower traffic, the temp shoots up to about 215-230 at the lights!

and even after the freeway, in the neighborhood with about 10 turns to get to the house, it goes from 182 to a consisten 200-210 degrees cruising at about 30mph.

whats the deal? ive had the engine coolant drained out countless of times, and even had the radiator fluid changed out. is it the radiator itself? cuz im pretty sure my bike is running fairly hot.

    help please!

Im not sure what the temp should be, but 210 isnt that hot. It only makes sense that the bike would run cooler on the highway, more airflow to cool the rad.

If it has a fan that never comes on that should get looked at. However if it doesn't and its not boiling over its fine.

My f4i runs into the 210s, but 230s sounds kinda high.

sounds right, look at all the stuff around the engine. If I run my harley hard on the e-way it'll get upwards of 240, the motor is open to the airflow.

My F4i (2002) runs right about the same range. Gets hot in stop and go traffic. Your bike is fine - it's a Texas thing. :)

That seat cant be as hard as my RC51's seat. I swear its just a covered piece of plywood.

And teh RC gets up to 210-230 range every time i go into town and end up at lights also. So does my roomates GSXR750. Its completely normal. They dont like siting still. :o

My R6 on the highway runs at 170's but when I get to the city it shoots to 210-212, but as soon as I get going it goes down to 180...
