Im looking for a new daily driver and was absolutely happy with my old integra, except for the body completely rusting out. :wtc:

Has anyone owned or currently own an rsx and could give me some input? Took one for a test drive and loved it. But I have been reading alot of articles on a 2nd/3rd gear grind, particularly on the S (but I am only looking at the base model and not interested in the s).

I had a RSX-S for 2 years... It really was a piece of crap. By the time I was done with it, it had a new engine, suspension, speaker covers, motor mounts (luckily all under warranty), and was due for a new transmission. It was a fun car, but was in the shop way too much

Yes. I have a 97 eclipse gsx. Im dropping my built motor in next week:hs:

I've been reading countless threads on clubrsx and it seems the base is significantly more reliable than the S.

I wouldnt buy one if it wasnt atleast a S personally if your just leaving it stock. But i ehard the base is better if you plan on doing light modifications

My wife had an 03 Type-S for about 3 years. It was a 2003 and we kept it bone stock. It was really nice. Pretty sporty, great interior, good mileage and we NEVER had a problem with it. We bought it used and put about 25k miles on it. Nice car...I miss it.

  7. i had a 02 rsx type S, i loved it. i turbo charged it. best car i ever had.

I had an 02. 117k miles on the odo when I sold her. It was supercharged for 70k of those miles. That car was amazing. The transmission was butter smooth and handled very well (for fwd car anyway). I NEVER had a problem with the car regardless of the mileage and the abuse. I miss that car every day and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one once I get some money for a second car.

I drive 100 miles a day and change my oil around every 4-5k miles. 130k on the clock no major issues except catalytic conv. going bad.

I used to own an 02 Type-S. Purchased it with 66k miles. The only real problem I had with it was it burned a little more oil than any other I've read about.
Otherwise that, never had any real problems with it, even after I installed some coilovers, exhaust manifold, intake and catback exhaust.
Also, mine didn't have the 3rd gear grind that is mentioned a lot.
Overall, it was a great car that I took many trips on.

  12. my third gear never gave me any issues either.

great car.. i have a 06 type S and have had no problems except the 3rd gear grind (usually only when its cold out). car responds well to mods too. last time i checked you can get the type S for a decent price, ive driven a base and found it boring.

The RSX's definitely did NOT replace the awesomeness of the Integra. Try to find an 01 Integra and buy that instead

I have a 95 GSR that was adult owned and in amazing shape for the years and miles (175k). I'd love to sell it and get a newer one.
