I'm looking for something new. The 92 Sportster 883 I have just isn't cutting it for me anymore and I'm looking for something a bit faster and sportier. (The ironing right?) I like the looks of the Triples and they seem to have a more standard riding position which would be more comfortable for me being a bigger guy.

So what's the story on these? Anyone own one?

You ever think about upgrading the engine on your Sportster to 1200? If you do the wrenching yourself, it's only about $500 for the parts, I think. The 883 and the 1200 share the heads, block, crank, and rods, all you need to do is swap the pistons and cylinders, and you have a 1200 Sportster. It's a fairly common swap.

As for the Speed Triple, I don't know much about them besides they look kind of weird/cool/funky, and are fun to ride on Tourist Trophy for the PS2.

FZ1 has too much of a fairing to be considered in the exact same class to me. One's more raw looking (Speed Triple). I do admit tho, the newer FZ1's are badass.

Or get the street triple. My Dad has that bike but he's trading it in for a Ducati Monster instead. He said its a nive bike, but the throttle is too sharp (on/off) and it eggs you on all the time to ride fast. It does not like lugging around at slow speeds/low rpms.

Yeah, not so much looking into all the fairings and stuff. I just think the naked street fighter look is really cool. Probably not a white one though. I don't really care for white on vehicles.

well the MSRP is what? 18,000? totally different price range......could have two brand new bikes for that price. I think closer to 14,500 is where they probably should've priced it

Triumph Triples are FTW. You must buy this bike, if for nothing other than the soundtrack.

i have one. i highly recommend. track days are merely a matter of putting on low bars. touring is the suck because of the softbags but the torque of a litre bike with fuel injection is intoxicating.

not even in the same class. the new Vmax is going to be so far overboard that not much will even be in the same ballpark. 210hp but more about muscle instead of curves.
