Non firearm reasons:
cost of living
There are plenty of other places that are cheaper and just as beautiful to live at.
Let me know where, has to be good economy too
oregon is somewhat similar to CA but its a class III state
too hot for me
Washington too, it's a bit more rainy than places in Central Oregon. You can own Class III items there but you can't use them which is kind of silly.
KIDRR, check out Bend in central Oregon, if you're into outdoor type stuff it's one of the best places on the west coast IMO. The beaches aren't quite as nice as in California but I don't like swimming anyway
Not many places in the US where you can get the desert, forest, mountains and an ocean all within a couple hours drive.
Backpacking in the Wallowas a couple years ago
Rock climbing at Smith Rock, just outside of Bend, OR.
Not to mention there are a ton of places to shoot at. There's plenty of ranges but there are also a lot of designated shooting spots on public land that I prefer over ranges. I can go out there a bump-fire a couple mags from an AK with a couple friends and nobody is around to bitch.
I wish we had that shit here. Closest thing we have are private gun clubs, but I doubt they'd let you bump fire there. Other than we have mag limits and slow fire only.
Wow that looks great keesh, maybe I'll see if I can get a transfer from my job in a few years
Safety device? "Well this is my safety sir!" (name that movie)
Very nice. Any places to go snowboarding?
black hawk down
Tons, Bend is about 30 minutes away from Mt. Bachelor. Mt. Hood which is about an hour away from the Portland area also has some great resorts. Timberline on Mt. Hood is open all year round. All the pros go there to train during the summer because it's on a glacier.
Don't mind me, just whoring out some more pictures
There's lots of smaller ski resorts that are cheap ($20-25 for all day) which often get more snow and have a lot less people than the larger resorts.
I haven't seen 1 Starbuck's in any of those pictures. Unacceptable.
Does that one have full auto?
Yeah, my dad's old buddy from the Navy has one. He lives in NC. Only thing is it has a fake suppressor on it and semi auto for it to be legal?
For $13.5k it can be.
The two states I have lived in have been good to me (gunlaw wise). Texas, and Georgia. I loved Texas, everyone there carried guns. Lots of open carry. Georgia has been good too. I am just now starting to figure out how to get the good stuff here. More on that later.
Slightly off topic, but exactly where in OR is that second pic from? Keep in mind, I have never been to OR, and am not familar with the state whatsoever. Pic looks really neato.
Because California = socialism, not the American way...
Because it sucks.
It's in the Wallowas, which is in the North Eastern part of Oregon.
Not quite correct. The only NFA devices we in WA are allowed to own are AOW's & suppressors. You can own, attach it to a weapon, but can not use it.
Automatics, SBR, SBS have been verboten since '94
