I have been carrying a Ruger LCP with Crimson Trace on it for almost 9 months now. I got an offer from someone to buy it that would basically give me enough money to get a Glock 26 which I've been thinking about buying. Obviously if I did sell the Ruger I'd buy the Glock and carry the Glock.

The ruger is a pain in the ass to shoot and I think the GLock 26 will be more enjoyable to shoot.

Don't get me wrong, the LCP is nice I can put it in my pocket. I liked it during the summer because I could just put it in my pocket even in my shorts pocket and it'd be easily concealable.

I would suggest you're doing the right thing by stepping up in caliber (.380 to 9mm right?) although it is bound to be a little less convenient in terms of concealment. Which do you value more? Oh, and the Glock is probably a more reliable weapon in many ways....

Yeah, the G26 is a little bit bigger and is also 10 oz heavier.

    I wouldn't be pocket carrying the G26.

Yes, I'd be stepping up in caliber. It think it'd be easier to shoot he G26 accurately than it would the LCP. Plus it'll be a little easier to find ammo for :)...actually a lot easier as I already have a 9mm XD.

get both. I love my S&W 642 when i'm wearing something where i have to carry in a way other than IWB, it's small and light enough to put anywhere which the LCP is even smaller and lighter.

but i do feel better with 10+1 rounds with the G26 when i can carry IWB.

multiple weapons and conceal carry systems for various clothing scenarios FTW

helps you carry 100% of the time to have multiple choices.

(but yeah the G26 is pretty sweet, if you get it and want to spend much time range shooting i suggest getting a G19 magazine and the sleeve to fill in the space left between the grip and the larger magazine. without that or a grip extension it's snappy with 1 less finger than usual on the grip, unless you have small hands then nevermind)

Well if the deal goes through with the sale of my LCP I'll be getting a G26 at Cabela's with my 10% off coupon Feb 5-7. Thanks Rifleman Magazine!

I went from a P3AT to the 26 and haven't looked back. I am very glad I made the transition. It's a little harder to carry size wise, but you'll get used to it and in a few weeks you won't even notice. I thought about another one for summer carry initially, but have since changed my mind. The G26 shoots so well, I'd rather deal the little bit more hassle than go back to that little hand stinging .380.

    Do it.

Is your XD the subcompact model? If so I'd just start carrying that and save your money.

I'd prefer the G26 over the LCP, but not just because it has "Glock" stamped on it. I think it's a more solid gun, step up in caliber, easier to shoot, carries more rounds, etc. The size and weight are it's downfall, it's a big carry gun IMHO, even for being "subcompact".

if ya get the 26 please don't be that guy that puts the +2 extension on it and shit when you carry, if you make the grips longer just get a G19 :)

that's just my gripe with some G26 guys

i use grip extension or a G19 mag at the range but not for carry, defeats the purpose of not getting a G19 if you make the damn thing bigger

that's just my 2 cents though i'm sure everyone will call me a dumbshit for saying it :)

What holster do you use? Do you use it in the summer with t-shirt/shorts?

Yes, it's the Sub Compact model. Well one of the XD's I have. It's bigger than the G26. Plus I'm not carrying it for different reasons.

A basic nylon Blackhawk. Some will laugh, but this is by far the most comfortable holster I tried on. I have been looking at the MTAC and CTAC or Crossbreed so I can tuck in my shirts if needed.

same here, nylon blackhawk. comfy, only problem is you can't re-holster with 1 hand easily cause the top isn't reenforced

Get something you enjoy to shoot. The 26 is a nice piece. The pocket guns are definitely nice, I have one myself, but I'd much rather have my Glock on me.
