MIL tell me about the benefits of joining the ARMY

Discussion in 'On Topic' started by cellphonedude, Jan 5, 2006.

  1. I have 2 or 3 years left in school.. is it too late to join ROTC for the officer training program?

can the army pay for the rest of my tuition, AND give me an enlistment bonus :x:

you should call your recruiting centre.. they always have the most up-to-date information :)mamoru2:) .. or if you wait a bit, I think we have 2-3 army ROTC's on the board.

I can only speak for the Texas A&M ROTC program but I am sure the others are similar. Yes, you can enter into ROTC your sophmore or junior year and still get your commission when you graduate. Yes, the military can help pay for the rest of your tuition. As far as enlistment bonuses go (and as far as I know) they are only for when you enlist/re-enlist in the Army... Officers do not get them.

My best friend is getting the army to pay his $200,000 OSU medical school tuition, and he even gets paid like $1100 a month just for going to school, but that's different than ROTC... he didn't do ROTC or even think about the army until he realized there was no way he could afford med school. When he graduates med school in 4 years he automatically becomes a captain.
