Ok Ive been searching for a fight school and I came along one that will offer muay thai classes 1hr 3 times a week for $50 a month. Or if its early 12:30pm I can go for 5 1 hr classes a week for $75 a month.

I know its kick ass...but would it be pratical for a n00b to go into muay thai for self defense but also to maybe later jump to the ring? Im guessing than Ill later do some BJJ.:dunno:

Muay Thai developes great standing and strengthens your clinch (of course, I'm referring to the muay thai clinch). This fighting style promotes very effective strikes from both a distance and up close (mostly in the clinch). It's a lot of fun and is a great workout.

I'd say the biggest 2 keys to MMA success are Muay Thai and BJJ. This is simply my opinion, but I'm sure many people would agree that these two rank as a couple of the most important skills.
