I made th 19D thread earlier, and it has become unavailable in the guard unit. The Cavalry unit has some 13F positions open, and actually have a bonus for them (how much, I have no idea.) So far it seems like a decently cool MOS, since they are near the front lines, but also get to use thier heads. What are your experiences with the people in the MOS?

our 13F joes are on patrol everyday with our infantry platoon, their NCO does gate guard and their PL is the COs bitch. They don't really do their job much in Iraq anymore, not sure about Afghanistan

19D is all full up, and the Guard doesn't really work with people anymore I've noticed. 13F does have a $10,000 bonus, which would be REALLY nice.

that's what i was going to say. I met a lot of 13F's that weren't doing their MOS, they were going out on patrols like the infantry guys

I am also not opposed to going on patrol or anything like that. I'm sure it will change when I go one one and get shot at, but thats part of war I suppose. I tried for 19D, but no 19D is available in the NG unit I'll be joining.

13F's really don't do their job Deployed anymore.. unless your B-Fist'n on a Bradley.. Then if even that you will be doing nothing but Route Security when your Deployed.. There really isn't any use for them anymore.. Embedded in an Infantry Platoon carrying way more shit than an infantryman IE: 1523's, LRAS3, Batteries, following the PL around being his BITCH.. Only time the FIST ever does their job is in the field ..

my BFIST hasn't moved from the motor pool since I got to Mosul. And since no artillery is being called in 99% of iraq, unless you're in the middle of nowhere doing area denial missions, you can forget about taking any of that other shit out of your sensitive items connex. So either go to afghanistan, or have fun being on the CoIST.
