    How's that treating you?
I'm stuffing a Tremec TKO behind a 5.0L windsor and I'm interested in hearing from other Tremec owners..

  7. well how many miles are on the motor determines what weight oil, you should use. i would use a heavier weight oil in the case of a 5.0L hence most are pretty high mileage motors. i would say 10w40 or 10w30 .. 5w30 is too light of an oil for a high mileage motor

I was thinking a synthetic 10w40, the motor has 140k on it I think, so a 5w30 was never even considered.

Whitey - I will get acid to look at this thread, as far as I know he loves the tranny, but I'll have him reply himself.

Has that motor been running synthetic it's entire life? If not then I wouldn't put straight synthetic in it because you'll be very likely to develop leaks. I would def. not go any lower than a 10w-30.

    Try either a 10w-30 syn-blend or a 10w-40 syn-blend

I run a 10w-30 syn-blend in my 5.0 (has 130,000 miles on the bottom end) and have never had a problem. I ran full synthetic it's entire life up until about 20,000 miles ago then decided it just wasn't worth the money anymore with soooo many miles.
