I am going to Brazil to study abroad for 25 weeks. I will be leaving with a host family and other then that I have no more info. Should I or Should I not bring my camera. I feel its almost worth it to bring the risk seem worth it then to not have my baby for possibly epic pics, but if it gets stolen then I will never see it again :wtc:

    what to do!

Insure it before you go over. Camera insurance for an amateur is dirt cheap compared to the investment in gear. All my gear is insured for <$60 a year with no deductible.

if you go to a foreign country and DO NOT bring your photo gear, you're an idiot. You will hate yourself for the rest of your life for not being able to capture all the awesome stuff you saw there.

Hell I wasn't even into photography when I was a teenager living in Europe and I slap myself...and even more so for the 3 years I lived in Hawai'i and don't have a single image to remember it:wtc:

and dude...seriously....think of the women!!! Think of all that Brazilian ass you can photograph:o:rofl:

you will prolly never get a chance to go on a 6 month vacation in a foreign country. I personally would take my chances of it being stolen just to be able to take pics while I am there

absolutely take your camera. and i would invest in insurance and a camera bag that doesn't look like a camera bag, just to help with thieves (not sure they are an issue, but i would hate to lose my stuff traveling).

you should be banned from a&p for even entertaining the idea of not bringing it.

Call whoever does your car. If they don't offer the policy (thus getting you multiple policy discounts) they'll know someone who will.
