I'd like to get something with a scope, however prices on m1903a4's are $3k+. ruger 10/22's and a scope are dirt cheap, but .22's are weak, the accuracy on them is only 100 yards or so, and my rifle range goes out to 300 yards. any suggestions?

I've always liked lever actions, specially 30-30's :hs:

You could throw a scope on one :o

Are you hung up on surplus rifles or something?

You could get a brand new Savage 12 series varmint rifle that will shoot sub-moa and a pretty nice scope for about $650-$700.

You're not missing shit. M-1C/Ds and M1903s with real GI optics fucking lick dick. The No.4 (t) and L42s arent much to brag about along with a lot of German optic guns.

Your hung up on C&R guns, which are nice, but mostly aren't accurate enough to warrant a scope.

If you want something to scope for cheap, go to walmart, get a Remington 710, or a lever gun. Slap on a cheap 4x scope, and your set.

If you were to do that you'd be better off spending a little more on a Remington 700 sps than getting the 710.

I don't own a Savage but everyone who does loves them. If I ever get another bolt gun it will probably be a Savage.
