A&P Tax return money

    Yeah, I might be jumping the gun a bit here, but its only a couple months away.

    What should I do with it? Ill be getting about $2k back this year.

    Get a D300 body,
    Get a 70-200 VR or
    Pay off debt

    My current lineup includes:
    D80
    18-200 VR
    50 1.8
    Sigma 10-20
    SB600

    or just pay off debt and save for things like normal people... being in debt is dumb.

    First I'll pay any debts I've accumulated, then I'll see if there's enough left over for something fun.

    Last year I owed :wtc: so hopefully this year I've adjusted my withholdings enough.

    i agree, but "normal" people unfortunately dont follow your advice.
    saving up for things is pretty unusual in today's world of instant gratification

    Haha why do people spend their tax returns like it's a gift? Would you have spent $2000 on any of that stuff during the course of the year if you weren't getting it all in one big chunk after lending it to the government?

    Word, that isn't the government's money that they are giving you. That is the money that you worked hard for, pay off debt fool.

    i do that on purpose. i know im giving the government an interest free loan, but i like getting that extra money back at the end of the year all in one lump sum.

    like others have said... pay off your debt first.

    unless you're actually making money from your photos and feel that spending that money to buy new gear will make up for itself fairly easily.
