    I don't think I'd trust it. Sell the GSG-5 and get a 642.

Aside from the normal OT elitism, any objective reviews from Gun websites about the Taurus 650?

I did actually get someone else on the board that has a Ruger MkIII that wants to do a trade + cash so I think I'm going to go that way anyway.

Plus the guy that wants to trade the Taurus just sold/traded the GSG-5 Rifle version on the board recently, which I don't understand. Why sell the rifle version and immediately want to buy the pistol version?

Taurus and the CIA, that is an unprecedented level of fail.

Website reviews about the 650 specifically? None that I've come across. But Taurus's shitty customer service is legendary.

Don't piss around with shitty wheelguns. Save the shekels and get a Smith.

  9. The thing weighs almost 10 ounces more than a standard jframe. That kind of defeats the purpose of a small, lightweight pocket revolver. That alone would push me to pick a jframe over the Taurus.

You're right, it is heavier than the 642 - but I have yet to read anything else that's bad about the Taurus :dunno:

Are we just hating on Taurus because it's cool to hate on a snubby that's not a S&W?

I seriously doubt I'm going to go through with that trade anyway- the guy with the Ruger seems like he has his shit together and wants to trade.

If Taurus has CS issues, let's see some evidence of that :dunno:

  12. There are plenty of Taurus CS horror stories, just search the net. Really though, the weight thing is big. The whole reason people carry these little revolvers is because they're small and light and easy to conceal. I promise you that weight is a really important factor. The Taurus loaded would weigh as much as my 340PD + Laurel's 642 empty. IMHO that's really defeating the purpose of the small, light pocket revolver.

That's true. I looked up the actual weight and the taurus weighs almost as much as my XD9SC.
