I'm looking to buy my 1st gun (newb w/ guns) and I want a revolver to take to a range for funs... I was mostly looking to get a S&W but came across this Taurus for $300...

It comes w/ the original box, a cheap Uncle Mikes IWB holster, two speed clips, and a couple hundred rounds of ammo... He boughht it in the winter and has put a couple hundred rounds thro it w/ no problems.

    Decent price :dunno:

First I have to ask, are you sure you want a light weight snub for your first gun? Snubs are some of the hardest guns to shoot well and the light weight is going to mean more punishing recoil. Its certainly not on my list of recommended guns, ymmv.

Next that price seems iffy. Check to see what its made of and see what they sell for new. Uncle mike's holster is worth nothing, say $30-40 of ammo. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=taurus+85&x=0&y=0

That said if you're sure you want a light snub you can get a brand new s&w 642 for probably $350 and I'd take s&w every time over a taurus.

i have a taurus snubnose, not the featherweight. and i love it, ive shot the 642 and cant really tell the difference between the two. its a better shooter than i am. and as far as the price. they are only 300 brand new or even less. so youre not getting that great of a deal

    what he said

personally, even though I have been shooting for awhile, I still don't plan on gutting a snub nose as my first handgun (in *checks the clock* 1 year 7 months 2 days 4 hours and 48 minutes).
