Almost like a bracelet. Would it be a little :greddy: for a guy to do that.

    It'll say:

    Janet
    October 26, 1946-November 21, 1999

Then something surrounding it. :dunno: what it would be, but i'm still thinking about it. :hs:

No, i think thats a great idea.. and it sounds like that tattoo has some particular meaning to you so it would be even better. Good luck with the designing. You could always enlist the help of a trusted tattoo artist to help you figure out what you could put to surround it, what would look nice and be appropriate for what youre trying to convey.

Thanks for the info. I think may consult the artist on the outward design of the tat. I was thinking flames, but it made me think that my mother was burning in hell. That's the the entire opposite. :)

see you could actually get away with something 'nice' or 'girly' in this situation. It's a tribute to your mother and nobody in their right mind would say 'that's :greddy:'.

Do you think changing the date like the way you have it might be better?

I have it at October 26, 1946-November 21, 1999 but I was thinking about changing them to 26th and 21st. :dunno:

    :x:

But you'd think having a tattoo with another woman's name would deter them.

    Oh well. :big grin:

not if the dates are on there and legible. See it goes like this:
    Her: what's that tattoo mean?
You: it's a tribute to my mother, she passed away.
    Her: Awww, that's beautiful *tear*
    You: thanks :o

    that could totally happen.

    never know. :naughty:

but dont do it for that, do it for u mom. what a better way to dedicate something to her, then your flesh. you are a part of her in a way... (genetics, and behind held in the womb.)

    to the idea.

Do it! I love the idea. It's delicate and sweet, I think just like the memory of one's mother is.

    I e-love you.

Thanks, hun. As soon as I get the $$ I'm getting it done.

I'm thinking rosary beads wrapped around my left wrist. With my Mother's name, death and birth on it.

I would think you should do the dates like:
    10•26•1946 - 11•21•1999

    or simply:
    1946-1999

Using the full words (and even longer the "th" and "st" on the days) seems like you'd be squeezing too much onto such a small place.

My friend Jon (from the band Snapcase) and his wife have matching tattoos on their wrists, with their baby's name.

My friend has a couple on the wrist crisscrossing. They're on at an angle (i.e. if you tilted your arm on a 45 degree angle), they look great.
