Yes I know I am a big lurker I dont post a lot on here but I am going to try to. Anyways onto my question- I am getting a sleeve done on my arm and I am kinda worried about what people will think about it when I go in for job interviews and stuff. Would any of you look down say if you were a conservative manager at a place of business. I work mostly security jobs but want to get into other fields but dont want to be declined a job of my way of expressing myself. I know its my body and we all should accept everybody for who they are but some just dont see it that way. What do you Ladies and Gentlemen think?

wear long sleeves, don't tattoo your neck or face. unless you want to work at k-mart, a movie theater, video store etc you'll probably be fine with tats in any corporate situation, just wear long sleeves when appropriate :dunno:

I can't imagine any situation in a decent job where you would be wearing short sleeves or shorts. So you'll be fine.

The author just released a book, everyone that is profiled hold a pretty high position, including Doctors, lawyers etc.

If you can carry yourself well, wear a long sleeve shirt for the interview and during any "important" meetings etc. I think you will be fine.

the way i see it, they wont see your tattoo as you apply, so if you land the interview, just prove that you know your shit, and as long as you're not a traveling salesman or customer rep, they shouldn't care whether youve got a tattoo.

It sucks balls huh. I don't have any visible tattoos, but I do have visible piercings and I am considering getting a sleeve myself. I do software support and so far it hasn't been an issue. I'm not prepared to take my piercings out.

I work in a large financial firm with a business professional and business casual dress codes. No dress down days... but we are allowed to wear solid color Polos in the summertime. That's polos with short sleeves. My tattoo is about 4-5 inches above my elbow so it stays covered but I know for a fact the old timer run management on my floor will definitely look down on exposed tattoos. They are super anal here. :hs:
