i`m getting my first tattoo this weekend.
i`ve drawn out all of my tattoos, &i decided this is the one i wanna get done first.

    on my left wrist.

like that, but...well, obviously, neater. the outline a littler thicker, probably. and then the arrows stem a little wider.

other than that, thats basically what i want.
if i take that drawing to them,
&say "make it like that, but better"
    will they do it well?

    thanks.

also. MD crew. good tattoo artists?

    thanks. :x:

  2. Depends on what part of MD you are in.

Baltimore- Reed Street Tattoo, Saints and Sinners

Also never seen any work but line work from the Tattoo Museum but I hear they are good.

    Annapolis- Full Color Coverage

Glen Burnie- Dragon Moon ( I got my ribs done here)

does it represent something to you? or just like..a design? It's just kind of ... plain and overdone.

it actually does mean something very important to me.
my [ex]boyfriend &i were really really good friends for a long time before we started dating.
when we were dating, we talked about getting tattoos together.
we agreed to get matching heart tattoos on our wrists eventually.
we only dated for about 4 1/2 months, but we remained good friends.
we even agreed to still do the tattoos.
&then he died in a car crash on december 28th, about a year and 2 months ago.
the few months before his death we kinda drifted apart, &i will always regret that.

so yeah, it is something personal to me.
i want to get the heart, but also the arrow to show how much i`m still hurt.

sorry to delve into that little personal story.
but it is what it is.

there is a fucking story behind it.
i`m not just being like "well. maybe i`ll get this little emo heart on my wrist! LOLZ! :mamoru:"
some people actually get tattoos for reasons, not just cause they`re "pretty". :squint:

  12. Yeah I have to admit that the tattoo is a bit...well whatever but it is your choice etc.

How old are you, you don't sound old enough to get a tattoo without consent.

Are you sure you want a visible one as (I am assuming) your first tattoo...especially at 18

I am going to assume you are a girl too because of your story. Why not do it on your hip, shoulder blade...like somewhere personal where only you will see it

  15. I would have to agree here. I started my first tattoo when I was 18 and although its big, its covered by a shirt at all times. Often when people see it they say, "I didn't know you had a tattoo...Actually I would have never thought you would get one."

that's the reaction I know I'm going to get once I get mine done on my back. I personally like them where they're more-not visible. Having it visible 24/7 would be bothersome for me. That's not the same thing as not liking it 24/7 though...
Oh the reactions I'm going to get when people see it...

i started with a tattoo on my inner hip - that was 5 years ago. 7 tattoos later i've finally got one that's visible all the time (well, mostly.)

i started with my inner hip, then lower back, then outer hip, and then ankles and then shoulder blade, and now neck. honestly? i can see the story behind the tattoo and i know that you'll ultimately do what *you* want to do....
and i know you'll hate to see this, but you're 18 and if it's your first.... you might want to think more before you do this - in regards to placement at least.

i say that as respectfully as possible.

I don't see how her choosing a heart is lame as first tattoo. Its certainly not the worst thing she could do. In fact, over time she could modify the shit out of it. To me,it reminds me of sailor jerry and your other basic tattoo flash and honestly, Im kind of a fan of it. Hell, she didnt chose Kanji or some giant clawing panther to go up her arm..

I like that she drew it out herself too. Theres something charming about that. She's been thinking about it. I think she deserves a little more respect for that.

To the Original Poster: Yes, a talented and creative tattoo artist should easily be able to work with you to take your original idea and give it some flair and turn it into something youll really be happy with.

i think the drawing is cute - i like it. i'm just worried that if she (you, original poster) puts it on her wrist, she might regret it. but, it could also turn out really cool.

It shouldn't be glossy or goopy. You've applied too much a&d. Only a very very small amount.
