(((Sorry space format fucking up))) I been wanting a tattoo since I was 18. I see a tattoo as something serious. It is for life. I am 22 now, and still don't have a tattoo. Being religious, I want a religious tattoo. I do not have anything against crosses, but they are all common. If I did a cross, I would do a celtic knot cross being of Scottish descent. I do want my tattoo however, to be a guidance. The 10 commandments is way over the top. However, the seven deadly sins and seven holy virtues is a great mentallaty for a way of life that most people should follow. For those that do not know the sins and virtues... Wrath, lust, envy, pride, greed, gluttony, and sloth are sins Chasity, Liberality, Diligence, Patience, Kindness, Humulity, and abstinence are the holy virtues. However, I am trying to think of how to have them written. Right now the best I can come up with is having them written in the figure 7. From afar it would look like a 7, but upclose you can see on the top, its the 7 sins written out. Downwards would be the virtues. I am writting the text out in a bold, thick, and semi 'gothic' the sins and virtues. I will have to finish and take a picture tomorrow. Another idea is a regular 7 with the sins and virtues circling around the 7. Maybe no 7 at all. Any other ideas or comments are welcome. edit: wtf spacing collapesed

The idea sounds a bit weird, but thats because theres so many ways to picture it. Get back to us with the what youre thinking, im sure it will look great. I like the idea of the sins and virtues forming a circle, around the 7 or not. Maybe have 2 circles, with the sins inner/outer and the virtues opposite.

All those words will have to be pretty damn big. How large do you plan on going with this tattoo?

I hadnt thought aout size, so in addition to what Buttons said, where do you plan on getting this? If you get it on your back it'll fit no problem.

    Great idea.

I'd personally just get the two lists on either side of my body and not go for the "7" shape. I think it would be more powerful as just a list.

A list would be pretty cool. Like on your back and you have them written in 2 columns from top to bottom. Or across if it fits, Virtues on your upper back, Sins on the lower.

    Sounds cool.
Mine is praying hands with a tablet that reads, " Liberate Te Ex Inferis."
Which means, Save yourself from hell, and no has nothing to do with ZAO. Just liked the phrase from the album.

If you like Celtic crosses, you should see how it looks written out in the Celtic alphabet. Maybe even latin ? Just an idea.

sounds like a cool idea...if i were to do that, id prolly get the sins on my left side and the virtues on the right side, or other way around...that way you can have the wording a bit larger and they will still be seperated. very cool ida tho, donno dow the & idea would look tho.

Dude, if you do that much text, your artist is going to punch you in the back of the head after every word.

I got virtue (angel) on my left side since that is where the heart is located. And right now, I was going to get sins (grim reaper) on my right but now I dont know what I want :o

Artists don't usually mind doing lettering but when its that many words/letters it gets kind of tedious.

Im thinking about getting some bible scripture done...

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.

I want to get it around my wrist where I normally wear my watch. Also want to get all of Psalm 23

How about a Celtic Band with the words scrolled in the band around your Bicep. You could stick with Celtic Knot work and have the words inside of that. Justa a Thought!!

i think it might also be cool to make the words into recognizable objects and have them tattoo'd instead of the words themselves

make a collage of them or something. i think i'd like to see that more than words. i don't like text tattoos.
